Strategic Partnership: Crestview Elementary School
Did you know that 50% of 3rd graders at Crestview were not proficient in reading according to last year's state testing? 50%. Too often, children are falling behind in reading, which affects all aspects of their lives. This is a way that we can overflow in our love for God and put into action our love for people. We are excited to continue our strategic partnership at Crestview for the 2023 - 2024 school year! |
Our hope is that we will have enough volunteers join in this mission to cover the kindergarten and first-grade classes with reading buddies.
Will you join in the mission?
The school has personally asked us to come back to help meet this need and start sending buddies the week of September 18.
The steps to this process are...
- Indicating desire to serve by filling out the questions of what grade & what days are you available
- Fill out the school district's background check as soon as possible
- Come to the hour-long launch meeting on September 17 after church where we will spend time in prayer and have a short reading prep conversation before starting to serve later that week.
- Pray and start serving!

Our first priority is to provide reading buddies for the kids at Crestview, but shortly after that, it's to encourage the faculty at Crestview by making or bringing treats for teachers once a month as a way of showing our on-going support and appreciation.
